Hello! I’m Kabou Nignan, your personal psychologist

Kabou Nignan is a bilingual (English and French) mental health therapist from Burkina Faso. She attended the Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2009. She graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in May of 2013.

Kabou has been licensed in the State of Maryland in March 2015. She worked in the United States mainly in Maryland in various mental health agencies including Life Renewal Services in Columbia MD, New Life Wellness Group in Baltimore MD, and Synergy Family Services in Hyattsville MD. She provided therapy to children and adults dealing with a wide range of mental health disorders.

Realizing the needs for mental health services in her nation, Ms. Nignan moved back to Burkina Faso in 2019 where she opened a private practice, 'Centre d’Accompagnement Psychologique et Mental'. She provides therapy for people with various mental health disorders including depression, PTSD, anxiety, substance abuse, and communication issues in families. Kabou is providing support to the US embassy in Burkina Faso as well as other foreign entities.

In July 2022 Kabou joined the Domestic Abuse and Prevention Program at the World Bank as a Regional Counselor, covering the Africa region as well as South Asia and the Middle East. At the World Bank she provides counseling sessions for the World Bank and IMF staff and dependents who are victims of domestic abuse. Kabou joined the Konterra Group in July 2024 as a domestic violence counselor covering globally.
